Friday Fun day

Paul works thirty minutes extra each day and gets a day off every month.  He took that day today.  We had loss of fun including taking Gus to the dog park close to our new house.  To say he enjoyed it would be an understatement.

Cuddly

We've been a little under the weather this week, and it hadn't been fun.  The only bright side to this is that tonight my sweet girl crawled up into my lap and just sat for well over an hour.  I loved every minute of it.

First day at my new job

Today was the first day Maddie stayed home with me since I quit my job.  Last week we had people in painting the house.

Today is Maddie's cousin Sofia's first birthday.  We tried taking a picture to send to her, but Maddie wasn't having any of it

This afternoon I blew up Maddie's inflatable pool.  To say that she loved it would be an understatement.  This is after she was petrified of the water for about a month.

Mommies and Margaritas

Of the five people in my department, three of us were pregnant and due within six weeks together. Throughout our pregnancies I kept a "margarita countdown" and our boss kept a "days since my last margarita" count. So today, the mommies met today at Chuy's for margaritas and introduced each other to our babies.

Infant Photos

We spent Maddie's 14th day of life having her infant photos taken. The thought was that we could take some of those cute photos of Maddie asleep dressed as a fairy or posed in some fun position. Unfortunately our sweetheart decided today was the day she was not going to sleep. Our two hour photo session lasted five hours. Oma, Poppa, Emily, Paul, Maddie and I were exhausted by the end of the day.

Our photographer did a wonderful job. She must be the most patient woman in the world. At the end of the day we ended up with some wonderful photos.

Baby K Arrives - Hello Madeline Anne!

After my water broke, a little after noon on January 22nd, the on-call doctor told us to go ahead and come to the hospital and she would "check things out." We decided to do a couple of things around the house including taking this picture before we headed to the hospital. The doctor actually called us when we were exiting the freeway asking where we were and wanting to know why we weren't at the hospital yet.

She's here! Madeline Anne was born at 9:42 p.m. on January 22nd. She weighed in at 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 20 inches long. We waited to find out if we were having a boy or girl, but were greeted in our labor and delivery room by the doctor announcing "so we are having a little girl!" Paul and I played it off and Paul still announced to me that Baby K was a girl when she was born.

The day before Baby K's due date Paul and I finally settled on names for Baby K. The day after her due date, January 18th, we took these pictures.
